The 2012 Great Austin to Shiner Pedal is a 100 mile bicycle ride starting in Austin and finishing at the Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner, TX. The 2012 GASP will benefit the United Way. May 5, 2012.
Cyclists will depart from Austin and ride 100 miles through small towns and scenic byways on the way to the historic Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner, Texas.

Directions from Austin:
From I-35 South, take exit 230B toward US-290 W/Ben White Blvd/TX-71/Johnson City. Bear slightly left on S I-35 (access road) and then turn left on E. Ben White Blvd/TX-71 E. Turn right on E. Riverside Drive. Entrance will be on your right.

Rest Stops are located every 10-20 miles and will be stocked with food, energy bars and gels, drinks and cheering volunteers to keep your energy high. There will be port-o-potties and hand sanitizer at each stop. Rest stops subject to change and we will make every attempt to post any changes online. Lunch stops will be announced prior to the ride.
SAG Vehicles will be in zones along each route. If you need to be sagged, you will be taken to the next zone, dropped off and picked up by the next SAG vehicle. Zones will be posted here prior to the ride. We will make every effort to get you to the brewery as quickly as possible.
Cycle mechanics will be on hand along the route and at aid stations to provide minor repairs and adjustments. We will post an emergency number for you to call should you become stranded or need medical assistance during the ride.
There will be medical support across the course as well as First Responders on motorcycles. There will also be medical support at the finish. Our EMTs and First Responders are in radio contact with event management and will act as quickly as possible to help in the event of an emergency.
The ride is rain or shine. The only way we would cancel is in the event of dangerous weather. Should the ride be cancelled, all entry fees become a donation to the official charity, there are no refunds.
